It’s been less than three weeks since John McCain chose Sarah Palin as his running mate, but she has dominated the news since that time. The self-described “hockey mom” to five children, moose-hunter, and [...]

VIDEO - Uniform Dissent, Part II - The War Already Forgotten
July 22nd, 2008 · No Comments
In the second part of this story, two Iraq veterans from Tennessee discuss their frustration with the lack of coverage the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are getting. They are both members of Iraq Veterans Against the War, but show strong support for their colleagues still fighting overseas (as well as the innocent civilians caught in the struggle).

Video; Real Debate = Real Issues
May 5th, 2008 · No Comments
On Oct. 7th, Nashville’s Belmont University will host the last Presidential Debate before the general election in November. We don’t yet know who the Democratic nominee will be (or if 3rd Party candidates will be invited), but we do hope for a debate of substance. Here in Nashville, we don’t want to discuss lapel pins, former pastors, or sniper fire. I spoke with some Nashvillians who offered some REAL ISSUES for debate. We’ve given you a head start, moderators; please take notes.

Part 2 - Power, Politics, Prisons
March 20th, 2008 · No Comments
Gus Puryear is the top attorney for the world’s largest private prison company. He also belongs to a Nashville country club with allegedly discriminatory practices regarding women and, possibly, minorities. Will those two facts keep him from being a federal judge? One former prisoner and activist certainly hopes so.
